Keynote Speakers

Luis Borges Gouveia is full Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Fernando Pessoa University. PhD in Computer Science from the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom, and MSc in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. Diploma in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics from the University Portucalense. He also has a habilitation in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Aveiro, and a postdoctorate in Information Science from UP. Researcher at the Information, Communication and Digital Culture Group, CITCEM, UP, and collaborator within the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Laboratory, LIACC, UP. His interests are the digital and how to explore its potential to improve human activity. Currently working on the use and exploration of artificial intelligence’s impact on ongoing digital transformation both for individuals and organizations. In 2021 receive an Honorary Doctor in Educational Technologies (Honoris Causa) by the Emil Brunner World University: Miami, Florida, US.
He belongs to the advisory board and north direction of APDSI — Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society, a Portuguese NGO with a tradition in the discussion and dissemination of digital issues in society, with more than 20 years. He is a Portuguese National Defense Auditor, since 2008 and a member of The Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History, and Literature.
He has been teaching for 30 years in higher education, having collaborated with universities in Portugal and abroad in his areas of expertise, with the successful guidance of 11 post-doctoral fellowships, 60 PhDs, and 34 master’s degrees. He has published 46 books and more than two hundred scientific journal publications and has more than a thousand texts and communications of a scientific nature throughout his career in higher education.

Mara Teresa da Silva Madaleno has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Aveiro (UA) since 2011, under the subject “Essays on Energy Derivatives Pricing and Financial Risk Management”. Currently Coordinator of the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP), and effective member. Presently lectures Finance and Economics at the undergraduate, graduate MSc and Ph.D. levels as an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the UA Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism (DEGEIT). Mara Teresa da Silva Madaleno is a prolific researcher, actively contributing to the academic community. She co-authors scientific articles in peer-reviewed reference journals, books and book chapters in the fields of energy economics, finance, and economics. Her research interests span Financial Economics, Energy and Environmental Economics, Energy Financial Markets and Behavior in Finance and Financial Markets. She has also been a valuable cooperator in various research projects. Presently, she is vice-director of the Master in Data Science for Social Sciences. She is also a member of the Portuguese Economists Order (OE) and university and Aveiro district representative of OE, founding partner, member and vowel of the Fiscal Council of APEEN (Associação Portuguesa de Economia da Energia; Portuguese Association of Energy Economics).

Margarita Robaina, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism (DEGEIT) at the University of Aveiro. Is a member of the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy Research Unit (GOVCOOP), and Coordinator of the Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability group. She is currently Tutor of the Course of Economics in the Program of Mentoring at the University of Aveiro, Vice-Director of the Economics Degree and Vice-Director of the PhD program of Energy Systems and Climate Change. Margarita has several publications in books and international journals with scientific arbitration, and has participated in several conferences, both in the Organizing Committee, in the Scientific Committee, and as moderator and speaker, as well as participated in projects in the areas of Energy Economics, Environmental and Natural Resources Economics, Circular Economy, Energy and Environmental Policy. She holds a PhD in Economics, a Master’s in Business Economics and a degree in Economics from the University of Aveiro. She held the positions of Vice-director of the Master in Management and Planning in Tourism, Director of the Master in Sustainable Energy Systems, member of the Executive Committee of the Department and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish-Portuguese Association of Economics of Natural and Environmental Resources (AERNA). She is Vice-President of the Portuguese Association of Energy Economics – APEEN and also a member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).

Marija Mosurović is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Economic Sciences (Innovation Economics Department) and a lecturer at the Faculty of Innovation and Project Management in Belgrade, Serbia.
Previously, she worked as a researcher at the Mihailo Pupin Institute (Science and Technology Policy Research Centre) University of Belgrade, and before that at the Ministry of Science and Technological Development (Department for Information Society Development).
She holds PhD degrees in both Economics and Technical Sciences. Her main research fields are in the management of science, technology, and innovation, with a particular focus on the strategic management of scientific and research organizations, technology transfer mechanisms, and organizational innovation . She has published extensively in national and international journals.
She has been involved in numerous national projects, as well as in more than 10 empirically driven and policy-oriented EU funded projects.
In recent years, she has been actively engaged in transdisciplinary research, integrating her expertise across diverse knowledge areas in order to generate societal impact.

Toacy Cavalcante de Oliveira is a experienced researcher and professor in Software Engineering and Information Systems, with a PhD in Informatics from PUC-Rio. He has over two decades of experience leading innovative R&D projects, mentoring students, and collaborating across academia and industry in Brazil, Canada, and Europe. Dr. Oliveira has supervised numerous MSc and PhD students and has authored more than 100 scientific publications in high-impact journals and conferences. His research spans software reuse, knowledge-intensive processes, process automation, and business process modeling. He has held academic positions at institutions such as the University of Liverpool (UK), University of Waterloo (Canada), PUC-RS (Brazil), and COPPE/UFRJ(Brazil), and currently serves as Head of the Computer Engineering program at Instituto Piaget in Portugal and member of the Insight Research Center. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Oliveira is also a technology entrepreneur, having founded two software companies focused on advanced information systems and process automation. He is one of organizers of the AgileKIP initiative and a co-developer of an open-source platform for process-aware intelligent systems, actively used in both educational and industry settings.
